Scholarship applications are available January 1 and must be received no later than April 30. Completed applications may be returned to the Town Office or to the organization offering the scholarship.

- Please review the individual criteria and scholarship descriptions below.
- Donations: Anyone may contribute to an existing fund or establish a new scholarship fund. Donations are tax deductible. Please contact the Town Clerk for more information.

Alva M. Clough Scholarship
Education Scholarship Alva M. Clough was a teacher and longtime Raymond resident whose dedication to education reflected her deep care for students and learning\ Eligibility Requirements:
Must reside in Raymond
Must apply by letter outlining future plans in the field of education
Must be accepted to a four-year college
Must submit current educational attainment and grade transcripts
Must provide recommendations from:
- Guidance Counselor
- A secondary school teacher
- A Raymond resident familiar with the applicant’s family, including character, personality, ability, and achievement Payment: Award is issued upon receipt of a first-semester transcript showing a passing grade.
Carleton E. Edwards Scholarship Trust Fund
General Scholarship Carleton E. Edwards served the Town of Raymond for over 50 years as a Selectman, served six terms in the State Legislature, and was a lifelong resident and dairy farmer. This scholarship honors his commitment to public service and education. Scholarship Amount: $500 Eligibility Requirements:
- Must reside in Raymond (preference given to North Raymond students if equally qualified)
- Must apply by letter outlining future plans
- Must be accepted to a four-year college
- Must submit current educational attainment and grade transcripts
- Applicants may reapply annually if qualified (new application required each year) Payment: Award is issued upon receipt of a first-semester transcript showing a passing grade.
Collins–Day Scholarship
General Scholarship Established in memory of Ruth Day and Anna Collins, this scholarship supports Raymond students who exemplify exceptional scholarship and character. Eligibility Requirements:
Must reside in Raymond
Must be a graduate of a high school or academy
Must be continuing education at a college or technical school
Must apply by letter outlining future plans
Must submit current educational attainment and grade transcripts
Must provide recommendations from:
- Guidance Counselor
- A secondary school teacher
- A Raymond resident familiar with the applicant’s family, including character, personality, ability, and achievement Payment: Award is issued upon receipt of a first-semester transcript showing a passing grade.
George E. Wood Memorial Scholarship
Mathematics Scholarship This scholarship honors George E. Wood, a respected selectman, teacher, coach, and musician who dedicated his life to youth and community service. Eligibility Requirements:
Must reside in Raymond
Must demonstrate interest and ability in mathematics
Must plan to attend a college, technical, or vocational school
Must apply by letter outlining future plans
Must submit current educational attainment and grade transcripts
Must provide recommendations from:
- Guidance Counselor
- A mathematics teacher
- A Raymond resident familiar with the applicant’s family, including character, personality, and achievement in mathematics Payment: Award is issued upon receipt of a first-semester transcript showing a passing grade.
Torstein-Johannas Lund Science Award
Middle School Science Award This award was established by Hilda M. Lund in memory of Torstein Johannas Lund to recognize excellence in science. Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a student at Jordan Small Middle School
- Must demonstrate excellence in science Award: Funded through interest earned on the scholarship fund.
Betts–Douglas–Hickey Scholarship
Presented by the Raymond Fire/Rescue Association in memory of Curtis Betts, Loren Douglas, and Marvin Hickey. Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a Raymond high school graduate
- Must be pursuing education in a medical or public service field Application Information:

Lions Club Scholarship
Available for Raymond residents but applications are submitted to and recipients decided by the Lions Club directly. Please contact the Lions Club directly for questions.
